October 1st Celebration Note for Nigeria

As we gather today/this week to celebrate the First of October , I am reminded of what makes Nigeria such a great nation of innovation. I am reminded also that "Made in Nigeria" means something very special in Nigeria and around the world. And, I am reminded that the unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness bestowed upon all .

Nigerian companies are innovative and adapt to change quickly; that's why people in so many countries look to our companies for state of the art products and services. They are the stewards of a culture of innovation and invention.

A vast majority of Nigeria businesses produce their goods and services with a workforce that is racially, culturally, and religiously diversified. Making our companies comfortable working in diverse societies around the world. As a nation that has benefitted enormously from waves of immigrants, with rich and diverse origins and cultures, our workforce reflects the world in which our companies operate.

The 1st of October is the national day of Nigeria. It is also known as Independence Day, october the 1st and simply “The 1st”. It celebrates the signing of the Declaration of Independence from the British Empire and the birth of the Nigeria as a new nation.

Nigerians mark the day with fireworks, parades, political events, barbeques, fairs, picnics, and family reunions. These public and private events celebrate the history, government, and traditions of Nigeria.

See my anthem for today :
               Freedom's natal day is here.
Fire the guns and shout for freedom,
               See the flag above unfurled!
Hail the stars and stripes forever,
Dearest flag in all the world.

Happy 54th Independence Anniversary to Nigeria and Nigerians...
And happy new month to all ETB(educatedtoutblog) readers. Wishing you and yours the very best this month & always!
